hi! im making use of Nero right now to transform and burn my AVI to a VCD. i would like to know what additional way (application) i could make use to transform the AVI to DAT before buring them with my Nero. The factor i ask about is since Nero costs some times to transform them, so im thinking i might make use of another pc to assist transform them and then only utilize my Nero to burn and save a long period of time.
p/s - it will be good if it is a free, not like dat video converter
Thanks a lot.

I updated to the latest dixv software and I'm trying out the 15 day trial of the divx video converter and it seems sincerely well. The best part can just drag and drop the vob documents after I make use of DVD Shrink to copy the files to my computer.
I've just been dropping the VOB documents right on my 604 and running them but I want to be able to put more videos on so they take up less room. The convert DivX software even offers an option for portable players so it makes 300-400 MB video files.
Therefore is this a top converter for files to operate on the Archos 604?

As each topic, I got few movies in .MKV extension and movie quality is as whole HD 1080p. I would like to burn them on DVD's therefore I could run them on my system of home theater but it will not let me. I've to transfer them into\to .avi or .wmv to burn DVD's that drop film quality.
Is there any place to burn these .MKV with no transfering/dropping video quality? Is the mkv converter the greatest program?
Thank you very much.
